Terms of Service

HEICPDF.TO (accessible at heicpdf.to) is a free online tool that converts HEIC/HEIF photos to PDF format. The Service is provided “as is” and is intended for personal and non-commercial use unless otherwise authorized.

All file processing is performed entirely within your browser using WebAssembly technology. No images, documents, or files you use with the Service are uploaded to our servers, transmitted over the network, or stored by us. The Service does not require registration or account creation.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 13 years of age (or the equivalent age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
• You are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. government embargo or that has been designated as a “terrorist-supporting” country.
• You are not listed on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Service to convert, store, or distribute illegal, infringing, or harmful content.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the WebAssembly conversion engine or any client-side library.
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service, including submitting an excessive number of conversion requests in an attempt to degrade performance.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to interact with the Service.
• Misrepresent the origin of files processed through the Service or claim endorsement by us without permission.

You are solely responsible for the content of the files you process using the Service and for ensuring that your use complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

Our IP

The Service, including its code, design, branding, and the HEICPDF.TO name and logo, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service or any part of it without our express written permission.

Your IP

You retain all rights to any files, images, or documents you process using the Service. Because files are processed entirely in your browser and never transmitted to our servers, we do not claim any ownership over, nor do we have any access to, the content you convert. Your files remain your property at all times.

Open Source

Certain components of the Service are open-source software. The HEIC decoding engine is based on libheif, an open-source library released under the LGPL license. The PDF generation uses pdf-lib, released under the MIT license. Use of these libraries is governed by their respective licenses.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

• The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations.
• The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
• The results obtained from using the Service will be accurate, reliable, or suitable for your intended purpose.
• Any errors or defects in the Service will be corrected.

No advice or information obtained by you from us or through the Service shall create any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO USE THE SERVICE (WHICH IS NIL — THE SERVICE IS FREE) OR, IF NO AMOUNT HAS BEEN PAID, TEN U.S. DOLLARS ($10.00).

BECAUSE THE SERVICE PROCESSES FILES LOCALLY IN YOUR BROWSER AND WE DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR DATA, WE CANNOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR DATA LOSS, CORRUPTION, OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING BACKUPS OF YOUR ORIGINAL FILES.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in San Francisco County, California.

If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

The failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms remain in full force and effect.
